Developing Professional Development Opportunities

During the summer term 2016, SYMH asked colleagues to complete an online questionnaire.

In the case of Primary colleagues this was targeted at reflecting where they are in terms of progress towards developing Teaching for Mastery within their school.

In the case of Secondary colleagues this was aimed at identifying needs & priorities for development.

Although the respondents were limited in number you may be interested to compare your situation with those that replied and you can find a summary of each via these links.

Secondary

There will be further opportunities for schools to contribute to identify future work groups for SYMH and colleagues are invited to contact the SYMH team to put forward their views for local priorities. Teaching schools have been invited to advertise the support and training programmes offered locally and SYMH will endeavour to promote other opportunities. Where a specific need arises there is an intention to use local funding to commission the development of professional development activity which will then be offered to schools as a pilot programme before being evaluated and if successful made available more widely via the teaching school network of SLEs and other professional trainers.
