This programme supports teachers to develop their A level pedagogy, with a focus on the Overarching Themes of the qualification: problem solving and mathematical thinking; mathematical modelling and representations; and proof, reasoning and mathematical communication.
Theme: Including elements of Teaching for Mastery in A-Level Teaching
Description: This work group will take elements of 'Teaching for Mastery' and explore how they can be applied to teaching A-Level Maths.
The workgroup will include ideas and examples that can be used across Year 12 and 13, with strategies that will be applicable to Pure, Statistics and Mechanics.
Teachers will work together to explore the theme and how this can be applied to their own teaching practice, as well as how to share it more widely within their departments.
Sessions will be face-to-face, at a venue in Sheffield.
