  • Mastering Number at KS2

    This programme supports schools to develop pupils’ automaticity in multiplication and division, while strengthening teachers’ understanding of multiplicative concepts and progression.
     

    What will you learn?

    • Your pupils in KS2 will develop automaticity in multiplication and division facts through regular practice
    • You will develop an understanding of how pupils progress in their knowledge and understanding of multiplicative concepts
    • You will work as part of a professional learning community to refine your practice
    • You and your school leaders will develop Mastering Number at KS2 as part of the curriculum in Years 4 and 5

    Programme Structure

    This programme includes:

    • Termly online workshops to deepen understanding and develop subject expertise
    • Local Work Group sessions for Lead Teachers
    • Ongoing collaboration through a local online community to reflect on practice and pupil progress

    Who should attend

    Two teachers per school:

    • One from Year 4
    • One from Year 5
    • Open to state-funded primary schools in England
    • Schools must already be involved in Mastering Number at Reception and KS1
    • Schools must already be part of a Teaching for Mastery Work Group

    Support is also available for subject leaders and headteachers to implement the programme effectively
