This programme supports schools to increase the proportion of students achieving high grades in GCSE maths and progressing to study maths at Level 3.
What will you learn?
- Develop cultures and practice within your school to enable more students to achieve highly in GCSE maths and progress to Level 3 study
- Develop knowledge and pedagogical skills that enable equitable access to demanding secondary maths topics for all students
Programme Structure
This programme includes:
- Exploration of effective pedagogical approaches that support all students to access and deeply understand mathematical content
- Opportunities to work with colleagues within your department to develop and share practice
Who should attend
- This Work Group is open to schools with a high proportion of disadvantaged students
- Schools should contact the Secondary Lead, Vicci Marshall, to check eligibility
Participants’ schools must commit to:
- Releasing participants to attend all Work Group sessions
- Supporting them to develop their practice and share this with departmental colleagues
- Allowing students to participate in additional AMSP activities to support higher attainment in maths
