Representation and Structure Sessions

brainstorm.jpg

After speaking to colleagues in schools across South Yorkshire about the needs for their department, we will be delivering some stand-alone sessions based on some key representations and structures. During these 45-minute sessions we will introduce the focus of the session and explore some secondary topics in which they can support a deeper understanding.

These sessions are open to all staff involved in the delivery of secondary mathematics in South Yorkshire, regardless of if you have worked with us before or not. They are free to attend and there is no expectation that you attend each session; join the session(s) that you think would benefit you and support your professional development.

Each session will run from 3:30pm until 4:15pm. Get in touch to find out more.

Moving between Concrete, Pictorial and Abstract
4th July

One of the most important things to consider when working with manipulatives and representations is how to move towards the abstract. Here, we will look at how to encourage students to make the transition themselves by encouraging them to spot the mathematical structures taking place.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
